Queer Prom Seattle started in 2019 as a fundraiser for our flagship event, What the Funk?! An All BIPOC Burlesque Festival.
Now heading into our 5th year Queer Prom Seattle started at the ReBar in Seattle, went virtual in 2020 and 2021, created magic at West Hall - Oddfellows Building in 2022, and will take place at Benaroya Hall on July 8, 2023 as part of the Community Stages Fund. The Seattle Symphony’s Community Stages Fund is generously supported by the Tagney Jones Family Fund at Seattle Foundation.
Queer Prom Seattle is an opportunity for the LGBTQIA+ community in the Pacific Northwest to come together and celebrate prom we never got to have. From elaborate formal wear to romantic dates to giant friend groups, Queer Prom Seattle has become an event for all of us to show our colors and hit the dance floor!
Queer Prom Seattle features burlesque, drag, and comedy as well as DJs for dancing and our Queer Court Competition that leads to the crowning of our Queer Monarch.
