What is #ShowTHEM Burlesque Basics?
#ShowTHEM Burlesque Basics is an 8-week intro to a burlesque journey through a BIPOC and Fat Liberation lens. We invite you to a burlesque basic program that will take you through the history of burlesque, character creation, movement, costuming, and finally a showcase of a complete burlesque act for your family, friends, and the Seattle burlesque community.
With guest instructions from some of Seattle's most treasured performers, including a 1:1 with a guest instructor, rotating auxiliary workshops (that can include):

#ShowTHEM is a glittery and inclusive first stop for those interested in the world of burlesque and performance.
#ShowTHEM employs a structure based on Miss Indigo Blue's Academy of Burlesque and utilizes some of the base curriculum.
Our Lead Lecturers
Mx. Pucks A'Plenty is the founder of Puckduction, a fiscally sponsored arts and production organization. They are a burlesque performer, producer, #themcee, and stage manager based in Seattle, Washington. Voted #17 on the 21st Century Burlesque TOP 50 Influential Burlesque Industry list for 2021, Pucks is known for the creation and co-production of the Pacific Northwest's first and only all BIPOC Burlesque Festival, What the Funk?! and is one of the founders of Seattle Burlesque and Cabaret Co-op. Mx. Pucks has been featured on Revry TV's Submission Possible, in Seattle Pride Magazine, South Seattle Emerald, KUOW, and Seattle Gay News. They have appeared in the Buxom Blaze Burlesque Festival, Savannah Burlesque Festival, FIERCE! Queer Performing Arts Festival, Edmonton Burlesque Festival, They/Them Festival, and the Disabilitease Burlesque Festival.
Lavish Leone is The Imperial Ms. Gay Washington 2022 and is a Seattle area Draglesque performer. She is the producer and host of Camerata Drag Brunch. As a trained theater actor and professional choreographer, Lavish has performed on stages since childhood. Coupling that with a BA in education, Lavish is able to combine two great passions and instruct the Art of Burlesque. Lavish Leone enjoys blending burlesque with many other forms of dance, classic burlesque culture, neo burlesque, drag, theater, and life experience. This method of.combiming music genres with costuming and movement allows Lavish to create a personalized experience for the audience with every performance she displays.
